About This Place

Hing Hing Kitchen, located on Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst, NY, is a standout destination for lovers of hearty, authentic Chinese takeout. This unpretentious spot specializes in generous portions that can satisfy even the most ravenous appetites. If you’re seeking flavor-packed, classic Chinese dishes served in sizes that defy the norm, Hing Hing Kitchen should be at the top of your list.

Step into this bustling takeout joint and prepare yourself for an experience that’s all about big flavor and even bigger servings. From the moment you open your container, the aroma of savory sauces, freshly cooked meats, and stir-fried vegetables will tease your senses. Their Wonton Soup is a comforting starter, featuring oversized wontons—no less than 10 per quart—that are plump, tender, and bursting with savory filling. The soup itself is light but rich, perfectly balancing the substantial dumplings with a warm broth.

If rice or noodles are more your comfort zone, Hing Hing Kitchen delivers there, too. The Roast Pork Young Chow Fried Rice offers a fragrant medley of smoky roast pork, scrambled eggs, and crisp vegetables, all stir-fried with a perfect hint of soy. Meanwhile, their Shrimp Lo Mein serves up a generous helping of chewy noodles entwined with succulent shrimp—each bite a satisfying blend of texture and flavor. For a vegetable-forward twist, the Chicken with Snow Peas is a light yet flavorful option, combining tender chicken pieces with fresh, crisp peas in a subtly savory sauce.

Lunch specials like the Jumbo Shrimp with Broccoli or Chicken with Chinese Vegetables come at an incredible value, priced around $5.25, making it an affordable spot for a quick yet filling midday meal. Whether you prefer the crispy gold of Egg Foo Young or the classic comfort of Pork Lo Mein, there’s something on the menu to satisfy all cravings.

What truly defines Hing Hing Kitchen, though, isn’t just the food—it’s the atmosphere and the people behind the scenes. This modest, cash-only establishment is often packed with hungry patrons, a testament to its loyal following and reputation. Owners, a hardworking husband and wife team, pour genuine care into every order, ensuring you receive value far beyond your money’s worth. Expect quick service and a friendly smile, even if the décor is minimal and there’s little space to dine in. This is pure takeout territory: no fancy ambiance, just straightforward, delicious Chinese food made to please.

Reviews highlight that while some dishes, like beef options, may occasionally lean toward chewy, most menu items deliver consistently on flavor and quantity. The egg rolls here are legendary—described as the size of a man’s fist or hockey pucks—offering a satisfying crunch on the outside and a well-seasoned filling inside. The dumplings also stand out, often praised for their generous size and delicious taste. Portions are unmistakably large, sometimes enough to feed two or even three people, making Hing Hing Kitchen perfect for family meals or sharing with friends.

If you find yourself craving bold, sizable Chinese fare in Lindenhurst, Hing Hing Kitchen is a dependable choice. Just remember to bring cash and an appetite—because here, small means large, and large means extra, extra large!

Let’s talk about Chinese food! Let’s talk about the biggest, baddest, tallest, most filling Chinese food takeout place you will ever know…welcome to Hing Hing Kitchen, on Sunrise Hwy in Lindenhurst (across from Babylon Town Hall). If you order a small, you get a large. If you order a large, you get 2XL size. Everything is BIG! Egg rolls are the size of a man’s fist, combination platters feed 2 people. You know those paper boxes that are used to hold Chinese food? Hing Hing leaves the tops of the white boxes open, fills them to the new higher top then over fills it even more!!! And the food is delicious!!! Are you hungry, Hing Hing is calling you…you’re welcome!

Great people, husband and wife, work there butts off and for the most part food is good and very large portions ( large enough the lo mein fed 3 of us 1 nogh and we had for lunch next day, lol.). Wontons are outstanding. Beef dishes I've gotten always a bit tuff, but no complaints on other dishes. Atmosphere, well, There is none- It's a quick take out joint . I.e. Dont judge the food by the front end, lol. It just needs some TLC. All in all, it's good food, thankful service, and huge over the top portions - I never order anything beef, but would try everything else. Def try the wontons and get the garlic sauce!!! By the way, been going there for 15 years. Also hit up other places depending on what in mood for, they all cook differently.

If you're really hungry and in the mood for good Chinese food, look no further. Extra large egg rolls and jumbo dumplings are a must

Hing Hing Kitchen is a small, busy spot that serves up very large portions. The main dish I ordered was fresh, hot, and flavorful, but the rice wasn’t quite as good—it tasted a bit dry and not as fresh as the rest of the meal. The place itself is very small and often crowded, so expect a bit of a wait if you go during busy times. It’s also important to note that it’s cash only, so plan ahead. Overall, a decent local takeout spot if you’re looking for big portions and hot food, just be prepared for the small space and cash-only policy.

This place gives you so much food! The Lo Mein is dynamite and the dumplings are delicious and the size of hockey pucks! We weren’t huge fans of the brown sauce for the shrimp and broccoli but would definitely order other things from here. Cash only is also hard because I don’t always have cash on hand
